Freight to Residence with Curbside Service

Freight to Residence is a shipping option for a 3rd party freight carrier to transport your palletized coop to your delivery address and offload your pallet curbside.
This service is not available to all residential addresses. The customer is responsible for verifying that a potential 53-foot freight truck can deliver to your address.  You can call your local zoning or highway department to verify and not incur additional fees.

Your residence will be deemed inaccessible for tractor-trailer delivery if any of the following conditions apply:

• Roads leading to your house have low-hanging branches
• Single-lane roads.
• There are gated passes or entry codes.
• There are small or narrow bridges.
• The road is unpaved and has no through access.
• There's no space for the vehicle to turn around.
• Your residence is on a cul-de-sac.

If you have any of these conditions, consider Freight to Terminal Pickup.

Process:

Carolina Coops will forward carrier and tracking information via text message upon shipment.

Dispatch will contact you once the pallet has reached the destination terminal to schedule home delivery.

Upon delivery, an adult, preferably the person who ordered the coop, must be available and prepared to inspect and sign for the freight.

Inspect the pallet thoroughly, referencing the photos that were sent to you. If anything looks out of place, note it on the receipt before signing and take pictures for an insurance claim if needed. All pallets are fully insured for the full invoiced price.

If there is damage, take photos and make notes on the delivery receipt before signing. Text Carolina Coops immediately with all images and details so that we may file a claim within the allotted time frame of 24 hours ONLY

Things to consider: Is your address deliverable?

1- Accessibility- Truck accessibility, street parking, high traffic, narrow roads, dead ends or cul-de-sac, gravel roads, low power lines, lack of a shoulder or curb, construction or other residential restrictions like HOA. Call your local zoning or highway department to verify accessibility and avoid additional fees.

2-This is CURBSIDE SERVICE ONLY. The driver is not required to, paid to or liable to pull into or back into your driveway to deliver your pallet any further than CURBSIDE without obstructing the public roadway.

3- Any “Carry In” or additional service requested by the customer and granted by the driver will be re-billed to you by Carolina Coops post delivery and due upon receipt. The rate for this is determined by what is requested by the customer at the time of delivery by the driver and may NOT be disclosed by the driver at the time the services are rendered. The rate has been recorded to be up to and can exceed $500, due upon receipt of the rebill and subject to late fees after 1 week and collections after 30 days. These fees are non-negotiable once rendered.

4-The customer is responsible for moving the pallet from “curbside” in a reasonable amount of time. Each city/town's tolerance is different.

5- The driver may request assistance to safely & efficiently offload your pallet. Use your discretion. Carolina Coops is NOT responsible, and we do not condone offloading assistance. Any charges, damage, or injury is the responsibility of the customer.

6- Missing your scheduled appointment- the driver will not wait for you and there will be a rescheduling fee!  Carolina Coops will bill this and due upon receipt, subject to late fees after 1 week and collections after 30 days.

If your pallet does not look neatly wrapped like the examples above, wrapped in black shrink wrap, please document the damage on the delivery receipt in front of the driver BEFORE SIGNING. You must take pictures and send them to Carolina Coops within 24 hours so we may file an insurance claim on your behalf and get you replacement parts as soon as possible. This is VERY time-sensitive!

**DISCLAIMER- The included cost of freight service does not include special services such as, but not limited to, air freight, ocean freight, ferry service, or final mile services. If your address needs any additional services, please contact us to place your order so we can make special accommodations to get your coop to you as efficiently as possible.

Disclaimer: Carolina Coops is not liable for any additional charges, handling, storage or other fees after the pallet has left our location. Carolina Coops is not liable for any damages to the pallet or personal property during the transit, pick-up, or unloading. It is the customer's responsibility to confirm the delivery address on the invoice prior to shipping.

Pallets/coop should be removed from the curbside immediately and protected from the weather.

FREIGHT TO TERMINAL is a shipping option for a 3rd party freight carrier to transport your palletized coop to a receiving terminal near you for pickup. This is most popular as many residential addresses are not easily deliverable, and transporting your coop/pallet from the curb to the backyard may be challenging and time-consuming by hand. The terminal employees can and will load the pallet with a forklift onto suitable transportation at your request, or you can unpack the pallet at the terminal and load your vehicle by hand at your own pace. The terminal staff will NOT assist with hand loading but will typically dispose of your pallet for you if requested, but they are not obligated to do so.

PROCESS:

● Carolina Coops will forward carrier and tracking information upon shipment via text message

● Once the pallet has reached the receiving terminal near you, dispatch will contact you to inform you that it's ready for pickup.

● Please note STORAGE FEES may apply if you do not pick up your pallet within 3 business days from notification. Storage fees will be billed to you by Carolina Coops and will be due on receipt of the invoice. Depending on the terminal, storage fees can range from $150-$250/day.

● When you arrive at the terminal, inform the front desk personnel that you're there for pick up. They will request the “PRO/Tracking Number” and likely a driver’s license or photo ID.

● A forklift operator will bring your pallet to a loading area for you to inspect and sign for acceptance.

● Inspect the pallet thoroughly, referencing the photos sent to you. If anything looks out of place, note it on the receipt before signing and take pictures for an insurance claim if needed. All pallets are fully insured for the full invoiced price.

● If there is damage- Take photos of said damage and make notes on the delivery receipt PRIOR to signing. Text Carolina Coops immediately all photos and details so that we may file a claim within the allotted time frame of 24hrs ONLY.
